Lake Pend Oreille

At more than 1,100 feet deep, Lake Pend Oreille is Idaho’s deepest lake and the fifth-deepest lake in the United States. It boasts 111 miles of largely undeveloped shoreline, much of it public land, and offers uncharted territory for visitors to explore.

Surrounded by remote beaches, bays and fir-draped peaks towering thousands of feet above the surface, Lake Pend Oreille remains one of the most extraordinary natural areas in the Pacific Northwest.

On this crystal clearwater, there are endless activities to enjoy.  In addition to world class fishing, Lake Pend Oreille offers opportunities to water ski, wake board, paddle board, sail, kayak and canoe.  You can find your inner peace with the tranquility of the water, whether paddling the meandering backwaters through the community or enjoying a relaxing boat ride on a sun-filled afternoon.

From the pine and fir-dotted foothills surrounding these waters, to its sandy shores and the boundless depths of the lake itself, whether explored in boots or by boat, Lake Pend Oreille is truly a wilderness of water.
